Tree Girl

I'm not sure how I landed on pinterest last week, but I know I got sucked in while I should have been studying ;-) Lots of art journal inspiration! And then I came across this girl...
I have seen big eyed girls popping up everywhere and had never before felt the urge to create one myself. But when I saw this girl (by Rani Primmer from JaggedTouchStudio) with her peacock, I got a vision of a tree girl with leaves on her 'hair'branches.

My tree girl looks a lot simpler than the girl I used for inspiration, but I'm pretty happy with her! I especially like how the lighter green and the darker green blend in the smaller leaves. I'm less happy with the combination of the green in her hair and the greens I used elsewhere.

I used Schleiper mixed media cardstock (250g/m2), a soft pencil, a black pen (Hema fineliner), Caran d'Ache Neocolor II in emerald green, yellow green and brown, Caran d'Ache fibralo in green (185-210) and brown (185-059), a Uni Posca marker in apple green, a black Sakura IDentipen, and two little rhinestones for the catchlights in her eyes.
