Gran Canaria 23-6-2011

When we started planning for our vacation on Gran Canaria we agreed with the inlaws that it would be fun to hang out together for a couple of days. T+L kept talking again and again about one thing they really wanted to see with our rental car: a certain crater. So in the morning of June 23, the day after our arrival, we met up and headed straight for the damned crater ;-) Highway and then creepy roads along steep hillsides. The view @ the crater was nice. Somewhere on the bottom were some grazing animals and a guy minding them.

Onwards, trough the heartland of the island. firest, mountains, great vieuws! We paused for icecream and drinks and to admire views.

Then back to the coast again, along valleys and villages and and more narrow roads. Stretching our legs at a villiage and yet more viewpoints. Nearing the coast again, we saw smoke from afar. It looked pretty serious, but it was just people burning tires or something.
