Stadsliefde / City Love - Adriaan van Dis

In January I read Stadsliefde, scènes in Parijs (City Love, scenes in Paris), by Adriaan van Dis. It's comprised of short portraits of the city, with an eye for all layers of society and different minorities, as might be expected of Van Dis. VD moves about the city observing. He has a good eye for details and describes how the cityfolk live, and the differences between the ways of life of people with different cultural, racial or religious backgrounds. A nice read.
I couldn't help but think about blogposts like that. Not necessarily about people, but vivid little snapshots, bringing topics that cross my mind or path to life. I know my writing can be rather dull for a wider audience at times, it's something I would like to improve.
