Hi, my name is Thinkie, welcome to my blog!
I'm a student in cultural studies, a museum enthusiast, a scrapbooker and an art journaler. I love to travel within Europe and I enjoy photography. You can read more about me on my homepage.
And in Dutch I enjoy:
I live, I love, I create, I capture, I learn, I enjoy.
Introduction to Literature / Inleiding LetterkundeIn early March I enrolled in the studymodule introduction to literature studies. A couple days later I received a large stack of books. One big fat book; 'Dutch Literature: a history' and three studybooks (Literature analysis, history of literature and a book with texts).
I have always liked reading, altough since my ME I don't read as quickly as I used to do. Dutch literature can be quite heavy, subjectwise, but there are lots of good things written in Dutch. In highschool I found history of literature very interesting, since it combines two of my interests (reading and history). Literary analysis is more theoretic but I still find it interesting. The texts are fragments from prose but also poetry, I'm not looking forward to poetry, I prefer prose, there's so much chewing on poetry to get it ;-)
I started the module this week, first up the the book on literary analysis. I hope to take the examn in January and in the mean time I have quite a lot of reading to do! And the course materials will probably cause me to want to read more books ;-) I expect to benefit from the knowledge I already have, just like I did with the orientation course, which will be enlarged in both width and depth.
So I'm doing to modules at once now and hope to up my studypace and alternate between both courses to prohibit getting bored with them. I can't study full days but as things are looking now I will dive into my books for the better part of 3-4 days a week. I'm trying to get into the habit of studying most of the afternoon and part of the evening. Concentrating for long periods of time is still hard for me, even though my concentration seems to have improved a little bit. Ever renovating neighbours and councilguys with leafblowers and the likes make it extra hard. And when it is quiet, I still tend to fall asleep or daydream away above my books :-)
