Hi, my name is Thinkie, welcome to my blog!
I'm a student in cultural studies, a museum enthusiast, a scrapbooker and an art journaler. I love to travel within Europe and I enjoy photography. You can read more about me on my homepage.
And in Dutch I enjoy:
I live, I love, I create, I capture, I learn, I enjoy.
The Hague and Meermanno / Den Haag en Meermanno
Today Wilma and I took a tram to The Hague and shopped at V&D, craftstore Pipoos and at Dille & Kamille (more on that another time).
Then we visited Museum Meermanno, a book museum. I wanted to see the exhibition The Ideal Book, about private press in The Netherlands.
I enjoyed how this exhibition was appealing to both my intellectual interests (history, literature) as well as my creative interests (inspiring!). We saw books from early 20th century limited editions, underground publications from World War II, and books awith all kinds of special designs. An important drive for these private presses was wanting to produce books with a high quality, not just considering content but also paper, typography and design.
Vandaag namen Wilma en ik de tram naar Den Haag, waar we winkelden bij V&D, knutselwinkel Pipoos en bij Dille & Kamille (waarover een andere keer meer).
There was also a room in which visitors could enjoy browsing trough special publications that were awarded by 'Mooi Marginaal', also very inspiring.
Er was ook een kamer waarin bezoekers door 'Mooi Marginaal' bekroonde boeken konden doorbladeren, ook erg inspirerend.
