Number Plates in Germany / Nummerborden in Duitsland

German registration plated start with letters indicating the town or region the owner lives. And more latters after that. Sometimes they form words that we, we had fun looking out for such plates during our trips.

'Duur' is Dutch for expensive. It doesn't look too expensive...!

I wonder if this car feels like a duck or if you should duck if you see it...

'Duif' is Dutch for dove. I thing it belongs on a grey or white car!

'Waf' is Dutch for woof. I wonder what sound this car makes when you start it!

'kook' is Dutch fot cook. This car must become really hot in summer!

'komt' is Dutch for coming. This car is coming to you!

Hij komt eraan!

We couldn't find one saying 'Wilma 50', we might use this one for her 70th birthday in 20 years time ;-)

This was my favorite. I wonder if it is owned buy a guy or a woman!

Dit was mijn favoriet. Ik vraag me af of de eigenaar een man of een vrouw is!

You actually made me laugh out loud. What a find to see a plate that said WILMA. My favorite is DUCK. In the US we say "if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it must be a duck." I don't know if you have ever heard it used in context. Thanks for making me smile.
