Beesies

Today the Dutch soccerteam plays in the finale of the world cup. We seriously belong to a small minority in the Netherlands by not watching. Soccer is huge here. But apart from the noises our neighbours make during and around the matches, there is one thing hard to escape during this tournament: Beesies. It means something like 'animalies', an incorrect but populair word for small animals here like insects. Most of them are orange (the national colour, also of the soccerteam) and they have taken over the country. Beesies-kebab on car antenna's :-( , bits of beesies everywhere, beesies inside cars, beesies in houses, beesies as clothing accessories, etc. It was almost a plague. You get them for free at the largest chain of supermarket (that is, you did get them, they have run out). We get part of our grocaries at that store so Cupcake got himself some new friends...

Wij behoren tot de kleine minderheid die geen voetbal kijkt. En zoals je vast wel weet, behalve het getoeter en gejoel van de buren tijdens en rond de wedstrijden is er één ding waar echt niet aan te ontkomen valt tijdens dit WK: Beesies. Ze hebben het land overgenomen. Stukjes beesie overal, gespieste beesies op auto-antennes :-( , beesies in auto's, beesies in huizen, beesies als kleding-accesoires, etc. Het is bijna een plaag. We halen een deel van onze boodschappen bij AH dus Cupcake kreeg wat nieuwe vriendjes.


Cupcake: I don't like soccer, my body resembles a ball to closely to be comfortable watching it, but my new friends are cuuuuute!
Cupcake: Ik houd niet van voetbal, mijn lijf lijkt te veel op een bal om daar comfortabel naar te kunnen kijken, maar mijn nieuwe vriendjes zijn schattig!!!


Seriously, they are everywhere! Naughty Beesie, you are not allowed in the candy tin!
Echt, ze zitten overal! Ondeugende Beesie, je mag niet in het snoepblik!


Bad, bad Beesie, books aren't food!
Stoute Beesie! Boeken zijn niet om op te eten!
